Notes from Group Meeting - Week 3


Notes, Tuesday 2 August

  • A place where kids can do whatever they want
  • Point of difference. 
  • No prioritising from council.
  • Culturally relevant - Botanical gardens 150 years old
  • no signs
  • no branding
  • an experience for kids, something to make it very memorable for them
  • make it like a “theme”… some idea of it. A journey that kids would go through, some sort of adventure/challenge
  • Age group: 5-10. 
  • No apps. 
  • Focus on the kids, not on the parents
  • Secret knowledge, don’t bombard them with it make it subtle. Fun comes first, learning second. Disguise it. 
  • It’s on a slope… 
  • Unstructured experience
  • Food fibre medicine construction. Not just “in the box” thinking? 
  • Don’t prioritise one plant over some others. 
  • Construction - make your own hut…
  • Health and Safety!! 
  • Guidelines not barriers
